1-on-1 University Spanish courses provide a unique opportunity to learn in a one-on-one environment with a 1-on-1 University Spanish professor. Your professor will quickly assess your skill level at the beginning, skip all the material that you have mastered and dive straight into the skills that would be most valuable for you to develop with enjoyable and engaging exercises with you in the driver’s seat. Your course can also be personalized to any language aspirations that you have.

The full-length course will include in-depth curriculum customization and sequencing to optimize your language learning trajectory, taking into account student preferences. As a student becomes more adept at Spanish, new skills and activities are added to their assignments including reading books and articles, listening to audio recordings and watching tv or movies. 1U Spanish has selected the best and most effective cutting-edge applications, books and other resources to facilitate learning in the course. Students may also learn mnemonic devices to help memorize vocabulary more quickly, learning 1,500-2,000 new vocabulary words per semester.

We expect most students to consider themselves conversationally fluent in Spanish in no more than 1 to 2 semesters, even if they have had no previous Spanish experience.

Your 1U Spanish Professor is a Latin American native speaker with separate advanced degrees in Spanish Language Education, Spanish Culture, and Spanish Literature. In addition to teaching at 1U, he has taught courses to Spanish language, listening, pronunciation, literature and cultures courses to 1,000’s of students in numerous European Universities.
